the journey of becoming a child of God
We typically share things on The Sunday Send that we have processed, worked through and are on the other side of… This newsletter is a bit different as we are sharing while we are at the beginning stages of processing this.

If you have been following Mornings With The Masters (MWTM) you may have some insight as to what we are trying to sort out. & to be honest, even as we type this we cannot help but Praise God because looking back on the journey this year, we can see how He has led us to this exact place for such a time as this! Let us give you some back story…
This is our 4th year doing MWTM (thats a lot of episodes lol) and the first half of 2024 has felt very very different. The devotionals, the topics, the responses, lack of something to share, the “ah hah” moments, everything has felt deeper. It’s honestly felt more tender. Less surfacey or only sharing things that we already know. It’s felt more vulnerable and real. Like God is leading us down a tight rope where fear and trust are equally present. Fear of falling and trust that He will catch us.
I (Chad) handpicked a devotional on the Holy Spirit because I honestly felt like I have been missing out. Like my knowledge of God is far greater than my experience with God. Like I have been surviving life rather than thriving in life. And after all God came to give us life & life abundant… but I haven’t felt that abundance and to be honest, I haven’t felt Him either.
So I started my journey to uncovering more of Him. And with each step forward I feel this prompting that is urging me forward metaphorically saying “I have more for you.” The steps have now led me to start getting counseling again and it has only been two weeks but I’m already seeing how and why I haven’t felt very connected to God.
It’s because I’m not truly living as His son. I have been living as an orphan in the kingdom of God. The pain of my past pushed me to put walls up to protect myself but now those walls are keeping me isolated (where the enemy wants me) and away from receiving the love and support of my heavenly Father.
Are you embracing God as your heavenly Father?
So why are we sharing all of this? Well, we are all children of God and “sonship” or “daughtership” means so much more than what our earthly experiences can help us understand. It’s actually a legal phrase that means full inheritance. We are His heirs. He has more for us and we know He has more for you. So we will be inviting you into this process to not just knowing that God has adopted us but feeling and living like He has made us His own.
Your story may be the same or it may be different but the conclusion should always be the same in that God is welcoming us into His embrace, He loves us AND LIKES us. He wants us to trust in Him because we truly believe (and feel) He cares for us. To call out to Him and call Him Abba Father. So stay tuned for insights on the journey to becoming a child of God!
