Can we get weird for a sec? If you’re reading this, you’re alive. PTL lol. But because you are alive that means two things. 1. You have probably been through some hard things & 2. You still have purpose.

But what if we told you that more often than not, those two things are connected? Purpose often comes wrapped in hardship, and those challenges can either be burdens holding you back or blessings pushing you forward.

No one enjoys the furnace moments in life. The struggles, the heartache, the times you wish you could fast-forward through. But if you think about it, the furnace is where the impurities rise to the top. It’s where you’re refined, strengthened, and molded into a better version of yourself. You may not like what is happening to you but there is a very good chance you will like who you are becoming, that is… if you choose to grow through what you go through.

Maybe you’ve faced financial struggles, relationship hurdles, health scares, or seasons where you just feel flat out lost and confused. Well do yourself a favor, read the names of the people from scripture below and see if there is anyone who avoided hardship and personal growth as they went through life.

All of these people had so much hardship on their journey that the pain could have easily hid their purpose. But it didn’t. And your pain won’t overwhelm your purpose either.

So, the question we want to leave you with today is this: Will you choose to be refined by the fire or burned by it? When you recognize that Jesus is standing in the fire with you—teaching, guiding, and revealing God’s goodness in the midst of the pain—your perspective shifts, and a new sense of purpose emerges. We’re praying over you and with you today, that no matter what fire you’re walking through, your eyes remain fixed on Him, and you come out the other side without even a trace of smoke.
