A reminder we forget as adults

This week’s Sunday Send is a little different.

Quick context before you read this…

I was thinking about the self perpetuating “cycles” we find ourselves in. At first thought I was like, “no wonder God’s mercies are new every morning because I definitely need them.”…
But as I continued down that thought, I started to wonder what if we can shift from “well.. I messed up today, will try again tomorrow” to “I need His new morning mercies for my new situation, life stage, challenges” etc…

I wrote something in response to that thought. Because while I want breakthrough, I want to progress, I want to not feel so stuck, I can’t help but also feel negative about change because it seems like the more you try to create change the more resistance you experience.
It was meant to stay private, in my notes app, as you can see my internal dialogue where I argue with myself (or prompting of the Holy Spirit) but as I prayed about this week, I felt led to share it. Maybe it’s for you too!

Do you feel that?
Of course I don’t. Life has a way of teaching you not to.

Don’t you want to believe?
Of course I do… but my life says otherwise.

What if things could be new?
What if you could start over?

What would you bring with you?
What would you leave behind?

Who would you become with this new life available to you?

What if each day was a new chance
to be reborn
to wake up and begin life again
a new story
a new you.

I’ll try.

Somewhere along the way, we started believing that dreaming, hoping, living with expectation is childish, not realistic, & our adult responsibilities conflict with having child-like faith.

But maybe that’s not true.

Maybe what is keeping us from moving forward is not a lack of desire for change, but the weight we are carrying that’s preventing the change.

Ex: You are on one side of a cliff and where you want to be is on another cliff. You need to jump to the other side but the weight you are carrying is preventing you from making the jump successfully

The compounding bills.
The constant feeling of not enough time.
The missing vision.
&
The fear of failing if you actually put yourself out there.

I know for me, I am the most light hearted when my heart is actually light. Not when it is weighed down with urgent stresses and responsibilities that keep me from living presently. When those stresses aren’t invading my head I really really like the child-like man of God I am!

So what about you?

Maybe you don’t have to carry everything with you into the next day & next season.
And maybe there is a way to “carry” the things that you have to carry without them weighing you down.

If this resonated with you, we’d genuinely love to hear from you. As we create these resources to help shift mindsets, rhythms, and start thriving in life it helps us to better understand your pain points. If you have 2 minutes to fill out the survey I made below, I’d appreciate it as it helps us get specific with our content and resources to speak directly into what you are going through!

Something to keep in mind, if you fill out this survey you will get Founders access and pricing to the resources we are building! We’re not creating resources for people we’re creating them with you. And your answers matter more than you know!
