We’re Back

So… we’ve been quiet for a while.
Eight months felt like forever.

We didn’t disappear we just found ourselves in moments of life where we had to practice the things we preach.

Before we jump back into business as usual, we wanted to catch you up on what happened while we were gone…and before that, a little “pro-tip”! there are 3 very exciting things at the bottom of this email as well as a 8 month photo recap!

so… since our last newsletter sent early May a lot has happened! Happy 2026 btw!

We moved out of our apartment after being told our house would be ready in a week and a half. Instead of extending the lease (the minimum is 3 months), we decided to take a few days at the beach and then head to Michigan to visit some of our closest friends. Fun fact: Tori and Milena have been pregnant together three times in a row now 🤍

When we got back, the house still wasn’t done. We stayed in a hotel for a about a week before realizing that a hotel room with two small kids and a very pregnant wife wasn’t going to work. *cue nervous laugh* So we headed to Gatlinburg to keep working on something we hadn’t shared yet — our Vision Casting Retreat Cabin. We would’ve stayed longer, but it was still under construction as well, and honestly… we needed our home finished.. & as they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil!

Back in Franklin, the delays continued. One “next week” turned into another, and another. We ended up hopping from Airbnb to Airbnb, last minute, expensive, exhausting, other words we don’t want to repeat lol trying to keep some stability for our family while Tori was 7, then 8 and 9 months pregnant.

It was hard. Not going to sugarcoat it.

But it didn’t crush us. (Read 2 Corinthians 4:8 if you’re in a hard season.)

It forced us to become a better team. It gave us perspective on the life God has blessed us with. It challenged us to watch our tongues, especially when frustration felt, or honestly was, justified. And I’m proud to say that if Jesus were physically in the room through all of it, He would’ve ‘high-fived’ me!

By the end of July, we moved into a mostly finished home. Tori was weeks away from delivering Ezra, and the house still wasn’t ready. That’s when our people showed up.

Friends hosted a “nesting party,” and a dozen a tori’s girls came over, each taking a station to help Tori prepare. If you’re a mom, you know how important that instinct to nest is. If you’re not, think of a bird building its nest before laying eggs. Something God placed inside women to prepare. And Tori’s people showed up big time!

Then Ezra arrived, our “easy Ezzie!” His labor and delivery story still feels like a miracle. Fun fact, I thought I was going to have to catch him before the team showed up… (We shared the full video for those who want to watch.)

At the same time, we were adjusting to three kids under three, finishing our primary home, and pushing to complete Vision Chalet. And to be honest, we’re not made of money. We were way over-leveraged putting everything on the line for these dreams that felt like they were falling apart… Have you felt that way before? Like trying to hold water in your hands and it slowly dripping away. Not fun.

The Stress was taking it’s toll. Everything that could go wrong did. But we still believed deeply in creating spaces for people in our home to find community and at Vision Chalet to find renewed vision! We learned to push back against the resistance we were facing, while continuing to pursue our dreams!

It reminds me of Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. We sometimes assume that if God is in something, it will be easy. But Nehemiah’s people rebuilt with a hammer in one hand and a sword in the other. (Nehemiah 4:15-18)

That was our year.

Fighting to rebuild. Fighting to move forward at all. And somehow… being drawn closer to God because of it.

As things continue to settle, we are restructuring our family rhythms, spiritual rhythms, health rhythms etc. Looking back, it feels like our fire had almost gone out. A weird analogy but it felt like we just had embers left. But God.

He breathed fresh life on it. And now, even with more responsibility and pressure than ever, we’ve never felt more motivated to live after God’s heart, love our family well, create deeply impactful value for y’all, and to stop living in survival mode.

Which brings us to today and What’s Coming Next-
