If Not You… Then Who?

Hi there! Haven’t seen you since last year! hahah Sorry. Had to. Anyways this Sunday Send is a bit motivational! Hope you enjoy it!

Some dreams stay dreams because we convince ourselves they’re for someone else or another time. But what if they’re waiting for you?

We all have those dreams, goals, and ideas that never quite make it past the “one day” phase. We tell ourselves we’ll start when life calms down, when we’re more ready, or when someone else opens a door to a clear path. But here’s the truth—most of the time, that someone else… is just you.

To help break through that, I’ve been leaning on two simple but powerful questions:

  1. If they can, why not you?

  2. If not you, then who?

I remember having this exact conversation with my mom (also Happy Birthday Momma Masters) when she was debating whether to start her dream job of refinishing furniture. I kept asking her, “Why not you?” Other people are doing it so why not her? I asked over and over—until it wasn’t a question anymore. It became a declaration: “Why not me?!” She needed to give herself permission to jump into the thing she’d been waiting on for too long. And don’t forget, God doesn’t just call the equipped, He equips the called!

The second question hit me just this week. If not me, then who? And honestly? The answer was no one. I realized I was waiting—waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect plan, or for someone else to hand me an opportunity wrapped in a bow. But life doesn’t usually work that way. And to be honest, things feel a lot better when we have some skin in the game and work with excellence. Don’t forget that hard work is a blessing. Work was a part of God’s plan before the fall of humanity when Adam and Eve were in paradise… Think about paradise and think about working in paradise… many of us would dread that but that was a part of God’s plan. Work is a GOOD thing!

When you think of the things God has placed on your heart, are you secretly hoping it will happen for you instead of through you? And when you look out from the sidelines ask yourself “why not me?”

Have a great week and see you next Sunday!
